Do You Want Happiness? by Marivic Malinao
Yes, everyone, without exception wants to have happiness but, what constitutes happiness? How do we obtain it? How to obtain happiness differs from person to person. Happiness as viewed by some people, is something to become, it is something to be. It is the end of the rainbow, a pot of gold, and most unfortunate people spend a lifetime chasing rainbows, chasing what is in the external that they will never find because happiness is something that resides within.
Happiness is a fleeting thing. Men crave for happiness, so they work very hard day and night to gain happiness. Despite hard work oftentimes, they find happiness further than nearer to what they have tried to. It is feasible to think that happiness, misery, wealth and poverty are relative terms. One may be rich but unhappy; another may be poor but happy. Rich people cleave to their wealth foolishly and their catastrophe is their inability to rise above their wealth. The poor desire for material things, if they fail, they live with resentment. Thus, with the poor and the rich, happiness is not found in either case.
Happiness is a state of mind. It cannot be found in the material things around us. All the money in the world cannot buy happiness. Pleasure is not happiness. It is just a passing show. It can be bought, but not happiness. No one is said to be happy unless he is contented with himself. 'It has been my observation,' says Abraham Lincoln, 'that people are just about as happy as they make up their minds to be (K. Sri Dhammananda, Why Worry?, l996).'
To restate, happiness differs from people to people; for me, happiness is having a good night sleep on soft pillows, fresh cotton linens and when I woke up, fresh orange juice to say hello to a new day. A good night sleep brings "happiness like a perfume that you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself (l996)." The real source of happiness is the mind, a controlled and cultured mind. Get rid of your desires and you will be free from unhappiness.

Focusing on Your Goals in Life Requires Commitment and Faith by Goalspot
Everyone of has goals in life, ambitions and dreams that we all want to pursue passionately, whether it is going back to college and getting your degree, or moving up in your job or career, taking a family vacation, that you have not taken in years, or starting your own home home business, all requires time, and faith that you will actually realize your goals.
I've been helping private industry and individuals for over 10 years now in goal setting. In everyone I have ever mentored and coached, I always receive the same questions in how do you get there. Many people have an idea of what they want to do in life-the problem is executing a SMART goal plan so you can start charting the road-map for your journey. When you think of goals and goal setting, remember the word FOCUS, and apply the individual letters to your own scenario.
F:
In anything you do in life, you have to focus in following your plan, that means doing and concentrating what is in front of you. It is easy to be distracted during the course of the day or the week, but you have got to get in the habit of prioritizing and focusing upon your tasks at hand in accomplishing them. Don't put off tomorrow what you can and need to do today, procrastinating not only keeps you not focused, it makes you lazy which is not a good characteristic trait, which only reflects poorly on you.
O:
Observe and take note of what you are doing. So many times people just do things so automatically whether you are at work on the job, or in your personal relationships relationships, that it is easy not to take notice and reflect upon what you are doing. Take note and reflect why you are doing what you are doing, think through what you have to do, knowing that you are moving yourself forward in achieving your goals.
C:
Be open to embrace change if and when needed, People by default are creatures of habit, nobody likes change, people resist and fears change because change is the great unknown. If you've always done something a certain way, and know you are forced to change how you go about doing something, then it is easily to be influenced in your thinking. However you have to keep in my mind, that change does not mean defeat, or failure in your life, change can be good bad or indifferent, it is your attitude most of all that determines whether you will be successful and succeed in your goals or not. You have to be willing to accept and embrace change in your life so you are able to rise above and grow from this experience.
U:
You also need to understand your strengths, weaknesses and limitations. This is healthy. If your math skills are poor at best, I think it is safe to say you're not going to pursue a career in accounting. If you're struggling in public speaking, or writing as an example, and your employer requires you to be a wiz in both, then maybe you need to recognize that you need to improve in these areas by taking an employee sponsored training addressing your weaknesses here. Recognizing and understanding your limitations is not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength and maturity because you are taking the necessary steps and actions to improve in areas that you find challenging.
S:
Submit and Surrender your life to God your prayers, and have the hope and faith to trust in Him in believing in Him to help you not only in your goal setting tasks at work or at home but for everything in life. Matthew 6:34, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, then all these things shall be added unto you." By putting all your trust, hope and faith in the Lord our God, he will guide you through your life, in being your spiritual and moral compass in life.

Does Clutter Bog You Down? by MyDeclutterQueen
In your heart of hearts do you know that your clutter, both physical and mental, is bringing you down from the person that you know that you can be? Do you see your passion for life being washed down the drain with the dishwater? Do you know that you really DO deserve more than what you have right now, and I'm not just talking about "stuff'". I'm talking about the way that you are living your life. Do you know that you are not supposed to be this stressed out all of the time? That your health should not take a back seat to everything else. That there should be 20-30 minutes each day for yourself and just can't figure out why all of this clutter gets in the way?
I have been there right along with you. I used to think about why things couldn't change for me. Why did my life have to be so cluttered, stressful and unbelievably chaotic. Most of my problem was my mindset - all of the clutter that was going on in my mind that kept me thinking in the negative and caused anxiety that even required medication.
When I decided that things had to change, everything changed. I realized that I was and still am in charge of my life, the decisions that I make and that I can't make decisions for anyone else. The coolest part is that when I changed my mindset, it was easy to realize who was on board (and should continue being allowed in my space) and who was not on board, and that I needed to let them go from my life. I stopped the constant replay of events over and over in my head that were negative clutter and consistently brought me down to a place that was not healthy.
Clutter is not simply physical...it is mentally a part of our everyday life. It is time for us, as a society to make a change our minds about how we are living our lives and become in tune to ourselves.
Living without your physical clutter doesn't mean that you have to live in a clear, pristine, sterile environment and in total perfection. It means that you can find what you need when you need it and you have space within your home that will allow you to be creative and open doors for new ideas and possibilities. It will allow you to see a bright and clear path to the future that you may not have even known that you wanted. Being organized will transform your life.
Here are some ways to determine if you should let something (or someone) go from your life. I know because I have experienced this before and although it seemed hard at the time, it really did open doors because the clutter was overwhelming my life, my space and my creativity.
If something or someone is weighing you down, hurting you or holding you back - let them go.
If you talk to yourself continuously with conversations such as "Should I let it go? Should I keep it? Does it make you feel guilty? Then let it go...it is time.
If order to rid yourself of the mental clutter that is stopping you from becoming the "True You", make the step to rid yourself of what is getting in your way. This will open the door to ridding yourself of the physical clutter and change your life.
